I am a Certified Canadian Counsellor and the founder of FYSO Counselling in Edmonton. My approach is rooted in attachment theory, trauma-informed care, and emotionally focused therapy, with a passion for helping people navigate grief, relational wounds, identity struggles, life transitions, and the lasting impact of spiritually harmful or high-control environments.
I believe that healing happens through safe relationships, honest reflection, and meaningful connection. I work from an integrative approach that draws from EFT, narrative therapy, CBT, ACT, psychodynamic principles, and faith-sensitive counselling practices. My work emphasizes compassion, authenticity, emotional awareness, and practical growth — creating space for clients to process both the emotional and spiritual complexities of their stories without judgment.
With a background in both counselling and pastoral/missions ministry, I bring a unique understanding of the emotional realities people face through loss, uncertainty, caregiving, and major life transitions. I am especially passionate about supporting individuals navigating complex relationships, grief and loss, codependency, religious and spiritual abuse and trauma, and questions surrounding identity, belonging, and meaning.
My goal is to offer counselling that feels genuine, grounded, and human — a place where people can show up honestly, feel understood, and begin moving toward healing and healthier connection with themselves, with others, and with God.
I am a 25 year combat medic and civilian paramedic. I have seen extensive amounts of trauma and decided to help others in a different way. The world is lost and after going the secular counseling route, I decided that God was needed to help those who are suffering from something that cannot be treated with medications or worldly methods. I received my Masters degree in counseling from Grand Canyon University and my board certification for Christian counseling from the IBCC.
I provide evidence-based, practical therapy to help individuals, couples, and families to navigate life challenges and improve relationships. I offer optional Canine Assisted Therapy with the help of Courier, my AKC-Certified therapy dog.
I can help you navigate serious relationship disruptions (arguments, affairs), reduce impact of trauma (physical, sexual, first-responder), or help you with personal and family transitions (grief and loss, launching from home, caregiver support).
Call today, often therapy does not have to take a long time.
