Focus on the Family's Christian Counselors Network

I consider it a honor to walk on this journey with you as you seek to find a better path or a better way of being on the path you have been given. I hope to use my 25 years of experience as well as my training as a psychologist to help you make your life more peaceful and joyful. This will take hard work from both of us and real collaboration. I have a Masters in Guidance and Counseling from Loyola College in Maryland, a Masters in Clinical Psychology from Rosemead School of Psychology, and a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Pepperdine University. I was a school psychologist prior to retraining in clinical psychology. I have extensive experience with ADHD and learning disabilities.

I first talk to each person on the phone to determine whether we are a good fit and whether I might be of assistance. I do a thorough intake and help you determine what you want to work on. It could be that you have been having problems getting along in your marriage or in your job. Or it could be that you feel depressed or rather empty. If you have OCD, we use Exposure and Response Prevention. If you have a sexual or porn compulsion, we look at how you can recover. For compulsions such as hair-pulling, we use strategies and sometimes hypnosis.
